The awards are held to rewards employees from across sectors, including Mahindra Partners. The awards ceremony also showcases artistic talents from within the Group.
The case studies are presented on:
Leaders meet to exchange ideas, learn and reflect, at an off-site location. The conclave follows a pre-decided theme and features sessions with external business leaders and experts from across India. The experts cover topics of strategic importance, science, arts, as well as public life.
Here, a commissioned work of art, usually a painting done by a local artist, is also unveiled keeping in mind our tradition of supporting local artisans. This artwork remains with us at the Mahindra Partners workspace.
In 2018, following the understanding that some portfolio companies were unable to run their own learning programs, Partners Pathshala was launched. The aim is to constantly identify common learning requirements and based on these needs, design programs that enable us to help create better synergy and optimise costs.
The platform provides skill building articles, webinars, videos and even self-paced courses. Delivered through a dedicated 30-Day learning calendar, the virtual sessions by SMEs and experienced leaders focus on diverse themes and combine theory with practical application.
Over the past few years, most of the Mahindra Partners portfolio companies have demonstrated enviable growth and profitability. Starting 2021, we wanted to recognise these companies and their teams, as well as to encourage everyone across the Mahindra Partners ecosystem, to replicate the best practices and methods that worked for these companies and teams.
The first REAP (Recognizing Excellence among Partners) Awards was held virtually, and was a significant step in celebrating the many contributions of our teams on their trajectory of excellence.
Our flagship learning program that grooms young high-potential managers into whole-brained leaders of the future.
Today, younger people have started to get into leadership roles. We see leaders in their 30s or even in their 20s. These young managers are often leading teams of people sometimes older than them.
The SLP program gives participants a holistic view of leadership. At the same time, it broadens their horizons through exposure to diverse disciplines and perspectives. Over 18-20 months, there is a strong emphasis on continuous learning through classroom sessions, combined with a variety of unconventional experiences. The focus areas cover topics like unleashing personal growth, leading others, understanding the world around us, emerging trends and technologies, decision making, impacting society at large.
During the program, participants go through a systemic and deep, personal transformation which enables them to discover their life purpose, much higher than themselves. This purpose comes alive when each participant takes on a 12-month social impact project aligned with their life purpose.
Started in 2014, this program aims to develop talent and generate ideas through business simulation. Teams from across our portfolio companies take up business cases of other portfolio companies and recommend strategic and operational solutions to the senior leadership team of Mahindra Partners.
The program spans three months, and three shortlisting rounds, where the employees are mentored by company buddies from the respective portfolio company as well as by external consultants. The top 6-7 teams progress to Round 3, i.e. the Grand Finale, for which they are mentored by the CEOs and Senior Leaders of the portfolio company.
When I reflect on my time here, the array of diverse learning experiences strikes me as most unique. Where else can a person start by leading marketing efforts for a service company (M Retail), followed by an investment stint in a private equity setup (M Partners), and then spearhead digital efforts for a manufacturing company (M Accelo & Cero).
Above and beyond my work here, what I reminisce the most are the exemplary people in the ecosystem - its leaders, mentors and my colleagues - and the great time spent in learning & working together.

Mahindra Partners was my stepping-stone in the corporate world. It was my first job... fresh out of college in 2012. I was part of 5 member HR team that we had and was the youngest member of the team. I remember Zhooben asking Moon (my boss back then) if I was old enough to be employed!
I enjoyed my time with partners by making new mistakes every day and learning from them...after all that's what your firsts are about!

I was privileged to be a part of the Mahindra Partners family from 2007-2010 working on the powerboats business division, now Mahindra Marine. As one of the earliest members on this project, my duties spanned a whole spectrum of functions, right from market research and brand identity to manufacturing, sourcing and operations.
From co-developing and presenting the business plan to the board to helping develop the sales and after-sales process for institutional customers. I was so lucky to work for leaders like Zhooben and Parag, who showed me that sky was the limit from Day 1.
Not only did they help me look at the big picture every time I would get caught up in the details, but they also empowered me tremendously to make decisions and develop my own leadership skills. Thanks to my time at Mahindra Partners, I built my self-confidence and critical thinking ability – skills that I use in my current role at Mattel in bringing new toys to life globally.
